Reaching Your Potential

I would like to introduce my latest project!

Reaching Your Potential (RYP), funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

First, I’ll tell you a little bit about it: RYP is a Sussex Central YMCA partnership project, working with YOS in East and West Sussex, YOS in Brighton and Hove, Sussex Nightstop, Eastbourne & Wealden YMCA and Sussex & Surrey Probation Trust. In collaboration with Youth Offending Services, covering the whole of Sussex. The service starts talking to young people before they have even left the institutions. This enables them to plan and start each individual’s tailored plan early- which will begin as soon as they are released. This will in turn help young people reintegrate into society, with more opportunities to succeed. “RYP is a service that works with young people on their grounds. This means it will operate how, when, and where (within reason) the young people want”.

If you want to find out more, click here & follow RYP on twitter: @RYPSUSSEX.

So, what will I be doing? I am part of the Digital, Social Media, Marketing & Promotion Team (DSM Team) – just rolls off your tongue! ‘This team is responsible for developing new marketing and promotional publications and using digital and social media to promote volunteering opportunities for RYP clients. It will also involve engaging and liaising with the press and media to generate good news stories about RYP and hopefully influence society’s views about young people.’

I’m really excited to be part of a project which will be helping many young people. It will be a brilliant platform to challenge society’s assumptions about both young offenders and young people in general.

Let’s do this!
